I'm addition to cookbooks with too many hard-to-find ingredients, cookbooks with written by chefs who don't bother to translate their recipes for home cooks are a no go for me. I've got one of those right now that I need to return to the library.

Not cookbooks, but my pet peeve is online recipes where you have to scroll through elebenty billion lifestyle photos and the entire history of the cook's family before getting to the actual recipe...

Yes!! I hate that. Text, ads, giant images. Ugh. That's why I rarely look for recipes online.

Btw, did you know you could get recipes from AI? I asked Chat-GPT for a simple bread recipe and it worked out pretty well.

I broke up with ChatGPT when it insisted to me that Yoko was John's grammar school English professor and no amount of argument on my part could dissuade it. I would hesitate to trust it on a matter of such importance as baking the staff of life.

Bard and I had one date that ended badly. Bard literally told me to stop answering for information on the topic at hand, that it had already given me enough information and I should move on.

They're really pretty shallow. I wouldn't date them either. But they're not a bad writing companion -- helpful for wordsmithing.
